Her research in the Conover Lab deals with studying neural stem cell dynamics, particularly in the case of post-infectious hydrocephalus (PIH). Previously, she has worked at the Biotechnology and Biomedicine Center in Vestec (BIOCEV) located just outside of Prague, Czech Republic, working on a project focused on the cloning and characterization of individual domains of the human disheveled 3 (DVL3) gene. On campus, Tanya serves as the chairperson for the John and Valerie Rowe Health Professions Scholars Program and is a member of Honors Across State Borders (HASB), a group that goes on alternative spring breaks to help build affordable housing in America.
